BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Ella Peters of the Gustavus Adolphus College women's basketball team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Peters etched her name in the record books on Wednesday night, scoring 33 points against St. Scholastica, the most in MIAC play this season. This included a record start, with 21 points in the first 13 minutes of game time, more points than the entire St. Scholastica team scored in that span. In the game, Peters added 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and made 11 field goals. On Saturday against Augsburg, Peters scored 14 more points to average 23.5 points per game this week as a whole, added five rebounds, and dished four assists in just 25 minutes of action.
Gustavus women's basketball (11-6, 7-3 MIAC) now hosts an important MIAC matchup at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, hosting Hamline (14-3, 8-2 MIAC) playoff positioning at stake.
