Men's Golf Jumps Up To Third At Twin Cities Classic

10/4/2026 7:21:00 PM

LE SUEUR, Minn. - The Gustavus men's golf team played at their true home course on Sunday, hosting day two of the Twin Cities Classic at Le Sueur Country Club. The Gusties pushed up into third place on moving day, going -1 across the four scorers.

First-year Noah Gratil (Mellieha, Malta) led the scoring for Gustavus, shooting a -2 (70), including an eagle on hole 16,  in his first competitive round at Le Sueur Country Club. Sophomore Charlie Looker (Cottage Grove, Minn.) was the other Gustie under par on Sunday, shooting a 71 with four birdies. Senior Blake Forrest (Maple Grove, Minn.) shot an even-par 72, with five birdies, but two doubles kept him from a red score on the scorecard at the end of the day. The final scorer of the day was the individual leader for Gustavus through 36 holes, sophomore Ford Finster (Hermosa Beach, Calif.), who holed out for eagle on hole 18 to shoot a 74.

"Today at our home course, it was a very scoreable day and the guys took advantage with course knowledge and execution of some shots," said assistant coach Randall Stuckey. "We started out well, continued that through most of the round and finished our last several holes in great shape. It was great to see us shoot under par as a team today and for Noah to shoot two under, Charlie one under and Blake even par".

"Tomorrow, our last round, is at Minnesota Valley Country Club in Bloomington. This will be a great opportunity to test our game, but also a great experience to play on one of the best golf courses in the Twin Cities. All of the tournament coaches and players appreciate playing competitive golf at that course".

Finster leads at +1 overall to be tied for eighth place and Gratil and Looked both sit at +3, with Forrest closely behind at +4. The final day of the Twin Cities Classic will start at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Minnesota Valley Country Club.
