BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - After moving up into third place on Sunday, the Gustavus men's golf team traveled to Bloomington to compete at Minnesota Valley Country Club. The Gusties fell one spot and were caught by Concordia to tie for fourth when the final putt dropped.Â
After a -1 second day, Gustavus was +15 as a team, allowing the Cobbers, who shot a -2 as a team, to catch them. Sophomore
Charlie Looker (Cottage Grove, Minn.) shot an even-par 73 at Minnesota Valley with two birdies and two bogeys. Looker was +2 after three holes and played the final 15 clean. First-year
Noah Gratil (Mellieha, Malta) started his day off with a birdie, but only found one more on the course while finding five bogeys for a +3 (76). Sophomore
Kyle Peterson (Duluth, Minn.) was just one shot behind Gratil, shooting a 77 and ending the round strong, playing the last six holes one under-par. Classmate
Ford Finster (Hermosa Beach, Calif.) was the final scorer, shooting an 81, which pushed him away from a top-10 finish.Â
Looker used his even-par score on Monday to tie for ninth individually to lead the Gusties. After finishing fourth at their home event, Gustavus men's golf turns around and competes at the MIAC Championships on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday in Brooklyn Park. Â
