SAINT PETER, Minn. – The No. 19 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team battled the Concordia College Cobbers on Saturday afternoon in a conference contest. The Gusties swept the Cobbers 7-0 to improve to 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the MIAC.
The Gusties opened the match with three wins in doubles.
Dominik Knutson and
Takura Mhwandagara swept #1 doubles 6-0.
Noah Hakim and
Owen Skanse took #2 doubles 6-2.
Joseph Li and
Quinn Monson won #3 doubles 6-1.
Gustavus won all six singles matches.
Gage Gohl led the way at #1 singles with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Tyler Haddorff earned a 6-2, 6-2 win at #2 singles.
Deuce Daniel took #3 singles 6-1, 6-3.
Luke Fridinger secured a 6-1, 6-0 victory at #4 singles.
Yash Bahalkar won #5 singles 6-2, 6-0. Li closed out the singles matches at #6 with a 6-1, 6-0 final.
Up next for the Gusties is another conference match next Saturday, March 21 at 10:00am at St. Olaf College in Northfield. Gustavus will also be hosting another match that day at 3:30pm at home against Augustana.
