BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Dominik Knutson of the No. 19 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Knutson won all six of his matches last week for the Gusties to help them defeat No. 31 Caltech 6-1, No. 27 Redlands 4-3, and No. 16 Pomona-Pitzer 5-2 during their spring break trip to California. The junior competed at #2 singles in all three matches, winning 6-4, 6-1 over Caltech, 6-1, 6-1 against Redlands, and 6-0, 7-5 verses Pomona-Pitzer. At #2 doubles with teammate
Takura Mhwandagara, Knutson won 6-3 against both Caltech and Redlands and then took a 6-4 victory over Pomona-Pitzer.
Up next for Gustavus are matches against the Concordia College Cobbers and Luther College Norse on Saturday, March 14 at starting at 3:00 p.m. at home at the Swanson Tennis Center.
