HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women's golf team hosted their Gustie Spring Classic this weekend at Emerald Greens Golf Course in Hastings, competing against 11 other teams. The Gusties shot +64 at the two-round classic to finish as the runner-up while first year Addison Longie won individual medalist honors with a score of +7.

UW-La Crosse won the tournament with a score of +60; just four strokes ahead of Gustavus. UW-Eau Claire followed the Gusties with a score of +65 to place third.

"Was nice to compete on a day without rain and the need for hand warmers," said Gustavus head coach Scott Moe. "I thought we battled hard all day long. We fell just short at the end but moved up into second place in a very good field. Proud of all 10 of our players for showing up ready to go after a long winter of indoor practice."

Longie finished first atop the field of 75 golfers by shooting +4 on Saturday and then shooting +3 on Sunday to finish +7; one stroke ahead of the runner-up Lilly Kaminski of UW-Eau Claire at +8.

Riley Zebroski had the next-best score for the Gusties, following up her +12 round on Saturday with a round of +6 on Sunday to move up nine spots on the leaderboard to tie for 12th overall.

Mary Kate Hewitt competed on the Gustavus B-team but had the third-best Gustie score at the Classic, tying for 15th overall at +20.

Emily Kolb had the third counted score for Gustavus, shooting +12 on Saturday and then improving to +9 on Sunday to tie for 17th overall at +21.

Teckla Wahlstrand improved from +15 on Saturday to +9 on Sunday to move up 15 spots in the leaderboard, tying for 21st at +24 for the fourth and final counted score for the Gusties.

"Congratulations to Addy on her victory," said Coach Moe. "She played solid all weekend and made a clutch six-footer on the last hole for the win. Riley had a solid 78 today as well. Proud of all the gals and look forward to our competition next weekend hosted by Bethel."

Up next for Gustavus is the two-round Bethel Spring Invite at Oneka Ridge Golf Course in White Bear Lake starting on Saturday, April 18.
