ST. PAUL, Minn. - 15 student-athletes for Gustavus traveled to the Rider/Bolstroff Invite on Friday night for the 5000-meter, made up of seven women and eight men. Senior
Molly Liston led the charge, winning the women's 5000-meter by just over 45 seconds and breaking the school outdoor 5,000-meter school record by 19.99 seconds.
The women ran first and third, starting with
Molly Liston (Richfield, Minn.) crossing in 17:26.81, which is the new No. 86 mark in the country and broke a school record which had stood since 2003, when Nichole Petersen ran a 17:46.80. First-year
Anna Forbord (Northfield, Minn.) was the second best finisher for the Gusties, finishing seventh with a personal-best 18:39.94. Four more Gustavus runners had personal-bests as well,
Anna Gould (Amery, Wis.) with a 19:24.99,
Mackenzie Murphy (Belle Plaine, Minn.) with a 20:04.81, Ali Keil (Prior Lake, Minn.) with a 20:45.62 and
Vivian Hatlevig (Rochester, Minn.) at 21:09.78.
Running in the second and fourth, the men finished with every runner having a personal-best. Senior
Will Janzen (Minneapolis, Minn.) was the top finisher for the team, finishing in second with a 15:01.17. Four more Gusties finished in under 16, with junior
