GREENWOOD, Ind. – The No. 19 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College women's tennis team had four student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Academic All-District awards, the organization formerly known as CoSIDA announced on Tuesday. Kaya De Bruijn, Allison Szalay, Karina Elvestrom, and Molly Austin all earned Academic All-District honors.

CSC Tennis Academic All-District award winners must have a cumulative GPA above 3.50 and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Student-athletes must also be in the lineup for 75 percent of an institution's days of competition (regional competition such as ITAs and non-team scored events do not count).

De Bruijn is an Environmental Studies and Geology double major with a 4.00 GPA. The senior is 22-6 overall in singles, going 18-3 in duals at #2 singles and undefeated in the MIAC at 9-0 in #2 singles. In doubles, De Bruijn is 25-4 overall and 19-1 in duals at #1 doubles while going 8-1 in the MIAC at the same spot. This is the third CSC Academic All-District award for De Bruijn in her career. The senior also earned Academic All-American honors in 2025.

Szalay is a Chemistry and Physics double major with a 4.00 GPA. The senior went 20-6 overall in doubles with an 18-5 (7-0 MIAC) record in duals, going 15-4 (6-0 MIAC) at #3 doubles. This is the third CSC Academic All-District award for Szalay in her career.

Elvestrom is a Business Management and Spanish double major with a 3.722 GPA. The sophomore is 25-8 overall in singles, going 7-2 in tournaments and 18-6 in duals at #1 singles with an 8-1 record in the MIAC. In doubles, Elvestrom is 25-4 with a 19-2 record at #1 doubles and 8-1 in the MIAC at the top doubles spot. This is the first CSC Academic All-District award for Elvestrom in her career.

Austin is a Business Management major with a 3.529 GPA. The senior went 22-6 overall in singles, going 19-5 in duals while primarily playing #3 singles with a 18-5 record overall and 8-0 mark in the MIAC. In doubles, Austin was 22-5 overall and 20-4 in duals, going 19-4 at #2 doubles overall and 8-0 in the MIAC. This is the first CSC Academic All-District award for Austin in her career.

The Gusties finished their team competition this season with a 30-6 overall record. In the MIAC, Gustavus went undefeated through all 10 matches to win their second consecutive and 32nd overall regular season championship. In the postseason, a pair of 4-0 wins over Bethel and Carleton secured their second in a row and 10th all-time MIAC Playoff title for the Gusties. Gustavus then hosted an NCAA Regional for the national tournament, defeating No. 28 UW-La Crosse 4-0 in the second round to advance to the Sweet 16.

Though their team competition has come to an end this spring, two Gusties are still set to travel to the NCAA Individual Championships starting Saturday, May 23: Elvestrom will compete in the national singles bracket, both she and De Bruijn are the second alternate team for doubles, and De Bruijn is the sixth alternate for singles.
