TEMPE, Ariz. – Gage Gohl and
Tyler Haddorff of the No. 23 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team have earned prestigious Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Regional Awards for the 2026 season, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Gohl was named the Arthur Ashe Leadership & Sportsmanship award winner for the central region. This award, which dates back to 1982, is presented to a student-athlete who has exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as scholastic, extracurricular, and tennis achievements in ways that embody the legacy of tennis icon and humanitarian Arthur Ashe Jr.
Haddorff was named the ITA Most Improved Player for the central region. This award honors a senior who showed the most improvement over the course of his collegiate career.
This season, Gohl is 18-12 overall in singles with a 9-9 record at #1 singles, a 9-3 record in tournaments, and an undefeated 5-0 record in the MIAC. Haddorff went 19-9 in singles matches with a 16-4 record in duals, playing mostly #3 with a 13-4 (6-0 MIAC) record while going 3-0 at both #2 and #3 singles in the conference. As a doubles team, the duo is 27-5 overall with a 16-4 record at #1 doubles, an 11-1 mark in tournament matches, and went 5-0 in conference matches.
Both Gusties are set to compete this weekend in the NCAA Individual Championships starting Saturday, May 23. The duo of Gohl and Haddorff will compete for a chance to win their second national doubles title in their careers. Gohl will also compete for the singles national title.
