CHICAGO – The No. 22 nationally ranked Gustavus Adolphus College men's tennis team battled the Greenville University Panthers on Thursday afternoon at the Stagg Tennis Courts in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship. The Gusties swept the Panthers 4-0 to improve to 20-9 overall and move on to the next round of the national tournament.
Gage Gohl and
Tyler Haddorff won the first match of the day, sweeping #1 doubles 6-0.
Noah Hakim and
Owen Skanse followed with a 6-2 victory at #3 doubles to clinch the first team point of the match for the Gusties.
Quinn Monson swept #6 singles 6-0, 6-0 to take a second team point for Gustavus.
Dominik Knutson followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #2 singles to put the Gusties up 3-0. Haddorff secured the fourth and final team point for Gustavus with a 6-4, 6-0 win at #3 singles to punch the Gusties' ticket to the next round of the national tournament.
Up next for Gustavus is a round two match against the No. 10 Kenyon College Owls on Friday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. in Chicago.
