FARMINGTON, Minn. – Addison Longie of the Gustavus Adolphus College women's golf team has been named the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Longie shot even par at the two-day St. Kate's Invite this past weekend to finish as the individual runner-up with the top score for a MIAC golfer at the tournament. The sophomore also made program history by setting a new Gustie 36-hole record with 144 strokes, breaking the previous record of 146 set back in 2005 by alumna Kelli Groff. Longie shot +1 in the opening round on Saturday before closing the weekend with a round of -1 on Sunday to etch her name into the Gustavus record books.
Up next for the Gusties is a trip to Williamstown, Massachusetts for the two-day Williams Invitational at Taconic Country Club starting Friday, September 26.
