SAINT PETER, Minn. - The Gustavus men's hockey team lost 2-0 to St. Scholastica on Thursday in the MIAC opener, dropping to 2-2-1 overall. The 14th-ranked Saints remain undefeated at 4-0-0.Â
St. Scholastica took advantage of a power play and scored at the 13:39 mark, which proved to be the game-winner. The Saints added another with 31 seconds left in the first and took a 2-0 lead into the first break.Â
Neither team was able to score in the final 40 minutes of the game with the Saints edging the Gusties 23-20 in shots.
Jackson Hjelle took the loss in the crease after making 21 saves.Â
Gustavus and St. Scholastica wrap up the series at 7 p.m. Saturday in Duluth.Â
