2/10/2025 1:00:00 PM

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – For the second week in a row, Lily Mortenson (Jr., Champlin, Minn.) was named the MIAC Women's Hockey Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday, Feb. 10.

Mortenson collected her second hat trick of the season Saturday night against Saint Benedict, totaling four points in the Gusties' 6-0 win. She scored once in the second period and twice in the third, all on the power play, for her second hat trick in three weekends. She chipped in an assist as well on Saturday, and totaled eight shots in each game.

The junior forward ranks in the NCAA Division III top-10 of four different statistical categories. Her 0.95 assists per game are fourth, 0.81 goals per game third, 1.76 points per game rank second, and her five power play goals are tied for fifth. She ranks first in the MIAC in three of the four categories, trailing only teammate Kaitlyn Holland (Sr., Aberdeen, S.D.) in power play scoring (six goals).

She's the first player since Hailey Holland '24 in the 2021-22 season to score 37 points or more with 17 goals and 20 assists in 21 games played. Holland scored 40 points in 31 games played. She's also the first player since Holland in 2019-20 to score more than one hat trick in a season.

Mortenson earned the same weekly award on Dec. 2 and Feb. 3. This is her third career Athlete of the Week selection.

The No. 3 Gusties (17-4-0, 12-2-0 MIAC) return to the ice Thursday, Feb. 13, hosting St. Scholastica (4-17-0, 2-12-0 MIAC) at Don Roberts Ice Rink for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
