Gustavus Adolphus College Announces Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2025

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College Athletics Department is proud to announce the selection of eight individuals for induction into the Gustavus Athletics Hall of Fame. The Class of 2025 includes: Kali Griggs '10, Max Hanson '10, Emily King '04, Kaelene Lundstrum '10, Melissa Mackley '10, David Martinson '10, Travis Prunty '00, and Chris TeBrake '04.

These distinguished alumni will be honored at the Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet on Saturday, October 18, in Cec Eckhoff Alumni Hall, following the Gustavus football game against the College of St. Scholastica at 1 p.m.

Class of 2025 Inductees:

Kali Griggs '10 – Women's Golf | Burnsville, Minn.
Griggs is a four-time NCAA Championship qualifier, a three-time All-American, and a four-time MIAC All-Conference honoree. Her senior season, she helped lead the Gusties to a second-place finish at the NCAA DIII Championships and was named the MIAC Senior of the Year and to the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team. At nationals, Griggs helped lead the Gusties to a sixth-place finish, two third-place finishes, and a second-place finish as the runner-up in 2010. The women's golf alumna helped set the program's records for best team 18-hole (297) and 72-hole (1284) tournament scores and ranks second in program history for top individual 36-hole (147) and 72-hole (314) tournament scores. In her career, she played 91 rounds with an average score of 81.5, a career low round of 73, and 21 top-five finishes. 

Max Hanson '10 – Men's Track & Field | Montrose, Minn.
Hanson is a three-time All-American, a seven-time MIAC All-Conference honoree, and a five-time MIAC champion. In 2010, he helped lead the Gusties to a 10th-place team finish at the NCAA DIII Outdoor Championships; their best in program history. That same spring, Hanson won the 800-meter national championship, was part of the 4x400 relay team that finished second at nationals, and was named the USTFCCCA Central Region Track Athlete of the Year. He also set the Gustavus program record in the outdoor 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.5, breaking a record that had stood for 40 years. 

Emily King '04 – Women's Swimming & Diving | Duluth, Minn.
King is a two-time All-American, a 14-time MIAC All-Conference honoree, and a six-time MIAC champion whose 197 career points at MIAC Championships set a program record. She finished 12th and 14th in the 400-meter national championships in '04 and '02, respectively. King helped lead the Gusties to top-three team finishes in each of her four years, highlighted by two MIAC championship victories. 

Kaelene Lundstrum '10 – Women's Track & Field | Bird Island, Minn.
Lundstrum is an eight-time All-American, a 16-time MIAC All-Conference honoree, and a seven-time MIAC champion. In 2009, she was named the MIAC Field Indoor Athlete of the Year and earned the MIAC Performance of the Meet in the pentathlon. Lundstrom still holds the program record for the indoor high jump at 5'6'' set in both '08 and '10.

Melissa Mackley '10 – Women's Hockey | Burnsville, Minn.
Mackley is a two-time All-American and two-time MIAC All-Conference honoree. She was named an NCAA Woman of the Year Finalist, a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American, the Gustavus Female Student-Athlete of the Year, and an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship award winner her senior season. She was also named to the MIAC All-Rookie team her first year. Finished her playing career ranked fourth in program history in games played with 114 and ninth in career points with 102. In her career, she played 114 games, scored 33 goals, recorded 69 assists, totaled 102 points, and had six game-winning goals. 

David Martinson '10 – Men's Hockey | St. Louis Park, Minn.
Martinson is a two-time All-American and three-time MIAC All-Conference honoree. His senior season, he was the ACHA National Player of the Year, the MIAC Player of the Year, led all of DIII with 1.04 goals per game, and led the conference in scoring with 23 goals and 13 assists for 36 points. His junior year, he was the captain of the 2008-09 Gusties team that was the national runner-up at the NCAA DIII Championship. In his career, he played 85 games, scored 76 goals, recorded 54 assists, totaled 130 points, and had 13 game-winning goals. His 0.89 goals per game and 1.54 points per game rank third and fourth respectively in program history 

Travis Prunty '00 – Football | Inver Grove Heights, Minn.
Prunty is a MIAC All-Conference honoree. He set the Gusties' single-season record for rushing touchdowns with 17 in '99, which still stands as second-most in program history. In his career, Prunty played every game of every season. He ranks third in program history with 591 carries, fourth in rushing touchdowns with 30, and sixth in total rushing yards with 2,750. He averaged 63.4 rushing yards per game and accumulated 3,188 all-purpose yards. 

Chris TeBrake '04 – Men's Basketball | Saint Peter, Minn.
TeBrake is a MIAC All-Conference honoree and a MIAC Sixth Man Award winner. He holds the Gustavus record for career steals with 181 and has both of the top-two single season steals records in program history with 61 and 53. He played in all 118 games for the Gusties throughout his career and ranks fourth in career assists (343) and eighth in career blocks (61) in program history. TeBrake helped lead the Gusties to the '02-03 NCAA DIII Championship game where they finished as the runner-up and to a MIAC Championship victory in '03-04. 
 

About the Gustavus Athletics Hall of Fame

The Gustavus Athletics Hall of Fame recognizes athletes, coaches, and benefactors for exceptional contributions to the College's athletic programs. Selection for student-athletes is based on outstanding athletic achievement while enrolled at Gustavus. All eight members of the Class of 2025 are being honored for their accomplishments as student-athletes.

Inductees are selected by the Gustavus Hall of Fame Board, an 11-member committee consisting of current athletic administrators, former coaches, and alumni.
