Between the pipes, Katie McCoy certainly proved herself to be the best goaltender in the West, if not the country, as the Grafton, Wis. native holds nearly every record available to her after a historical career in the Black & Gold. McCoy set multiple program, MIAC, and NCAA all-time records in her fifth season, most notably claiming the Division III shutout (32) and win (78) records. She finished her career with an impressive record of 82-14-3, a 0.99 goals against average, 1,538 saves, and a 0.940 save percentage. With McCoy in net, the Gusties continued to post the country's premier defense, leading the nation once more in team shutouts (11). In 26 games this season, McCoy allowed only 24 goals for a goals against average of 0.93, a save percentage of 0.946, 21 wins, and nine solo shutouts. She follows in the footsteps of Amanda DiNella (2015-19) as the only Gustie goalies to be receive multiple All-America honors.

McCoy was the Gusties' and the NCAA's leading goaltender, averaging just 0/86 goals against while starting in 29 of the Gusties' games and playing in 30. In 1751:49 between the pipes, McCoy earned nine individual shutouts with a save percentage of .946. After guiding the Gusties' to their first NCAA National Championship with a double-overtime win in the semifinals and a triple overtime win in the title game, McCoy was named the NCAA's Tournament MVP.
