A pure shooter with great vision, Jessica Vadnais is one of the most decorated players in Gustavus women’s basketball history. An all-around great player on both ends of the court, Vadnais is the only student-athlete in program history to earn both WBCA All-America and MIAC Player of the Year honors, which she accomplished during the 2006-07 season.

Vadnais, who always wanted to make her teammates better, graduated with eight program records and still owns records for career three-pointers made (210), career free throws made (481), single season points (535), and single season free throws made (169). At the time of graduation, Vadnais held the school record with 1,779 career points, which now ranks second. Her 223 career steals currently rank second while her 306 career assists rank sixth.

A two-time WBCA All-Region and three-time MIAC All-Conference selection, Vadnais played in 106 career games, averaging 16.8 points per game. She shot 39.8 percent from the floor, including 34 percent from three-point range. The Hudson, Wis. native helped the Gusties take second place in the MIAC and reach the NCAA tournament during her junior year. Once again, Vadnais and the Gusties reached the NCAA tournament her senior year where she was named a finalist for the 2008 Jostens Division III Player of the Year award.

After graduating in 2008 with a major in health fitness, Vadnais was a personal trainer with LA Fitness and Lifetime Fitness until 2018. Vadnais has been the owner of JV Fitness since 2012 and the lead strength and conditioning coach at Hudson (Wis.) High School for the past six years. Vadnais has also been the head girls basketball coach at Hudson, her alma mater, for the past seven years. Jessica currently lives in Menomonie, Wis. with her boyfriend Mike.
