A major contributor on three of the most successful teams in the storied history of the Gustavus men's golf program, Tim DeJarlais helped the Gusties to consecutive runner-up finishes at the NCAA championships in 1990 and 1991, while the 1989 team placed sixth. DeJarlais is one of just six Gustavus golfers to earn All-America honors three times in his career, and he just missed winning the NCAA individual championship in 1991 when he tied for first place and then lost a playoff to finish second. At the conference level, DeJarlais played on three MIAC championship teams (1988-90), earning all-conference honors three times and winning the MIAC individual title in 1989. He claimed medalist honors at six tournaments while at Gustavus and completed his career with a 76.1 stroke average, which is the fourth-best in the history of the program.

After graduating with a major in art, DeJarlais accepted a position as assistant pro at Bent Creek Golf Club in Eden Prairie. In 1994, he moved to Arizona and served as a PGA assistant pro at Pinnacle Peak Country Club and Prescott Country Club before becoming the head professional at Prescott Lakes Country Club. In 2001, DeJarlais moved to Sweden to become the PGA director of golf at Hills Country Club. He is currently Sweden's PGA director of instruction working out of Herrljunga and Åsundsholms Golf clubs. Tim lives in Dalsjofors, Sweden, with his wife, Anette, and their children, Tyler and Sara.
