One of the most prolific running backs in Gustavus football history, Prunty rushed for 2,750 yards and scored 30 touchdowns over his career, totals that still rank among the top marks in Gustavus history. His 591 career carries are the third most ever by a Gustie, while his 30 rushing touchdowns rank fourth, and his 2,750 yards place sixth all-time. His senior season proved historic, as he carried the ball 222 times for 1,062 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging more than 4.8 yards per carry, earning All-Conference and All-Region honors.
After graduating in 2000 with a major in Biology, Prunty received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005. He then worked as a dentist in Centuria, Wisconsin, for three years before buying a dental practice in Mankato with fellow Gustie Brent Olson, where he has practiced since 2008. Travis lives near Janesville, Minn., with his wife, Jennifer (Maldonado) ’01, and their children Lily, Charlie, and Claire.
