Arguably the greatest player in Gustavus softball history, Rachael Click came through in clutch moments of big games and was the ultimate team player. Click etched her name all over the Gustavus record books and is also considered one of the best softball players in the history of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Click made an immediate impact in the conference her first year as the 2006 MIAC Rookie of the Year. She went on to claim All-Conference all four years and finished as the 2009 MIAC Player of the Year. Click was also recognized on the regional and national levels as a three-time NFCA All-Region selection and a 2009 NFCA Second Team All-American.
Playing shortstop her entire collegiate career, Click had the mindset to not let anything through the infield, no matter how unorthodox she fielded the ball. In 516 chances, Click boasted a .944 fielding percentage with 305 assists. Click holds 10 program records, highlighted by 35 career home runs (third most in MIAC history), an .825 slugging percentage, and 179 runs batted in, which is also the MIAC record. Click culminated her Gustavus playing days by leading the team to the 2009 NCAA Division III World Series, taking third place.
A model Division III student-athlete, Click excelled in the classroom as a three-time CoSIDA Academic All-American and a 2009 NCAA Postgraduate Scholar.
After graduating cum laude in 2009 with a major in elementary education, Click served as an assistant softball coach at UW-Eau Claire for one year before moving to Jacksonville University in 2010 where she was an assistant coach while earning her master’s degree in educational leadership. Since 2012, Click has been the head softball coach at the College of Saint Benedict. Rachael resides in Maple Grove, Minn. with her fiancée Stacie Olson and together welcomed their first daughter in June of 2024, Codi Jo.
